Teko Center commission piece, 2004
This commission takes it departure in the roulette game. It's primarily a floor piece with additional logos painted on the doors. The logos function as a kind of jettons that could be invested in the game. The piece has a roulette game in one room and a roulette table in the other. Teko Center is located in Herning which is an old textile production area. Teko is a school for the textile industry which is still an important business in the region but now the production takes place in Eastern Europe and Asia. The theme of game is chosen as a metaphor for the future that awaitst the students of Teko. The commission is located in a building next to one of the most famous commission pieces in Denmark, the Angli Building carried out by the Danish artist Paul Gadegaard from 1977-1982. Apart from the remains of the Teko Center, the Angli Building also holds the art museum of Herning. In some perspectives - eg.   with regards to the colour scheme, the painting of the interior - this commission is thought out as a continuation of Gadegaard's work.
