Perfect Crime, 1998
Henrik Plenge Jakobsen, Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin, Paris
Installation, wood, kitchenette, gas
210 x 180 x 210 cm
Note: A red box decorated with a white skull. There is a door on the right side leading into a corridor which is empty except for a door on the left. On opening the door, the visitor enters an IKEA style kitchenette which leaks a non-smelling gas. Normal city gas contains a smelly additive which makes it possible to sniff out a potential leak. Therefore, the kitchenette in the red box is a mise-en-scène for the perfect crime.
