Note:Die Glocke consists of a cathedral-size church bell mounted on a bricklayed base next to the Cathedral in Paderborn. The bell is cast in bronze at the German bell foundry Eifeler GlockengieBerei in Brockscheid (in business since 1620). It weighs 1700 kilo bell and has a diameter of 140 cm. The inscription on the bell is a quotation by Friedrich Nietzsche: Gott ist tot! Gott bleibt tot! Und wir haben ihn getötet! Wie trösten wir uns, die Mörder aller Mörder? The quotation derives from Nietzsche’s Die fröhliche Wissenschaft from 1882 and is proclaimed as the first time in history that the dead of God is announced. The typeface used for the inscription is equally pioneer as it’s a replica of the one used for printing the first mass-produced book, namely the Gutenberg Bible of 1454.
